The SM Caen striker has been in fine form for a number of seasons.

Tottenham Hotspur have recently seen themselves linked with a move for two of Croatia’s more prestigious talents. Mateo Kovacic and Marcelo Brozovic of Real Madrid and Inter Milan respectively have both been linked with a move to White Hart Lane.

But Spurs, in reality, need neither player. If the club are to chase a Croatian this summer a name that many would never have heard of should be top of their list.

The player in question is SM Caen striker Ivan Santini.

The 27-year-old is a hard-working talisman with an eye for goal. Brilliant in the air and a constant thorn in the side of the opposition, he would suit the playing style of Mauricio Pochettino perfectly.

He has scored 12 goals in 28 games for Caen this season, and also scored in one game for former club Standard Liege.

He previously netted 11 goals in 24 games for Standard, 26 in 53 league games for KV Kortrijk and was excellent for hometown club Zadar.

The player is an unknown, with no caps for the Croatia senior side despite his good form and would be available on the cheap from the Ligue 1 side.

A taylormade Premier League striker who could offer plenty of support to their star man Harry Kane at a Daniel Levy bargain price. Tottenham would be wise to make a move.
