West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic
Slaven Bilic's side have been in freefall and found themselves perilously close to the danger zone after five defeats on the bounce.
Indeed it was seven games since the Hammers last tasted victory until they beat Swansea City 1-0 on Saturday.
And should they manage to get another win or two to secure safety, it is one of the Tigers' star players who the East Londoners should target this summer as they rebuild their squad.
Harry Maguire has been immense for Hull this season and is reportedly attracting admiring glances from the likes of Everton and Newcastle United.
Hull City's Harry Maguire
After such an impressive and record breaking season last term, West Ham's disastrous recruitment this season has seen the club take 10 steps backwards.
Ageing 33-year-old centre backs James Collins and Jose Fonte - who has struggled since signing from Southampton for £8 million back in January - are not the future of West Ham.
Maguire has been hugely impressive this season
And their best centre half, Winston Reid, is simply too injury prone to rely on.
With promising young defenders Reece Oxford and Reece Burke emerging, Maguire would be the ideal addition - at a pretty hefty price no doubt - to add strength, pace and quality on the ball as West Ham look to get back on track next season.
