Irrespective of Charlie Taylor’s situation, Leeds will need another left back – and this man would be an excellent signing.
Blackburn Rovers’ Elliott Bennett and Preston’s Greg Cunningham in action
With just eight games to go – and with it looking certain that Leeds United will have at least an extra two games on top of that – some fans will be debating about which positions the Whites needs strengthening in over the summer.
Irrespective of Leeds’ divisional status, and the ongoing saga with left back Charlie Taylor, another left sided full back will be required at Elland Road, and Garry Monk could do a lot worse than prise Greg Cunningham away from Preston North End.
The 26-year-old Irishman has been nothing short of excellent for Preston this season, and has contributed to his side’s rise up the table with five assists and one goal, which is impressive form for a full back.
Cunningham isn’t afraid of a tackle either, and if anything may need to rein in his aggression a tad, after racking up a whopping 13 yellow cards in all competitions for Simon Grayson’s side this campaign.

By signing Cunningham, Leeds would obtain a left back that could well be ready for the top flight if they get promoted this or next season.
Even if Taylor stays with the club, then Monk would have two excellent left backs vying for a first team spot at Elland Road – and that can’t be a bad thing.
