Norwich are set to appoint Huddersfield Town’s director of football Stuart Webber and hope to raid another Yorkshire club for its manager, who spent a season at Carrow Road as a player.

Norwich City want Barnsley’s Paul Heckingbottom as their new boss, The Sun reports (24/03, page 64).
Norwich are set to appoint Huddersfield Town’s Stuart Webber as director of football and hope to pair him with the manager of their Yorkshire rivals.
Heckingbottom – who played for Norwich during the 2002-03 campaign – has excelled in his first managerial role, having taken the reins following Lee Johnson’s departure a year ago.
Since then, the 39-year-old has led Barnsley to Football League Trophy success, and established them as a Championship outfit following promotion via last season’s League One play-offs.
Norwich have been linked with a string of experienced bosses since sacking Alex Neil at the start of the month, although recent reports suggest they are seeking another up-and-coming manager as the Scot’s replacement.
Bristol Rovers’ Darrell Clarke, also 39, was linked with a move to Carrow Road by The Sun on Wednesday, although the Bristol Post reports that his appointment is now unlikely.

Despite being two divisions apart last season, eighth-placed Norwich are only six points better off than Heckingbottom’s Barnsley in 11th.
