The Tottenham Hotspur target's future at Crystal Palace is in doubt.

After yet another bright season at Selhurst Park, interest in Crystal Palace's Ivorian winger Wilfried Zaha is really starting to gather pace. The Mirror have reported that Tottenham Hotspur are confident of completing a move for the winger in the summer; a transfer which could spell disaster for a Crystal Palace team which has spent millions over the last few windows.

And now a report in The Telegraph is suggesting a potential tug-of-war may take place between Sam Allardyce and Crystal Palace Chairman Steve Parish, when it comes down to keeping the winger at the club.

In the report, Allardyce does not mince his words on the influence of both Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace Chairman Steve Parish on Wilfried Zaha's future, claiming that it is the "Chairman's responsibility" to keep the player at the club, and suggesting that: “Spurs were always mentioned because agents or somebody decided to stir the pot... We all know who stirs the pot, behind the scenes, even though they deny it.”

What Allardyce will know here, better than most, is that the decisions ultimatelydoes not lie with just the Chairman of a football club. The influence of the manager will play a huge part in whether or not Zaha chooses to stay at Selhurst Park, as will the appeal of Tottenham Hotspur's manager, Mauricio Pochettino. Zaha will have likely seen the incredible transformation Pochettino has undertaken over players such as Dele Alli and Harry Kane, and will likely be keen to get in on a piece of whatever they're having.

However, the ultimate power in this situation will, of course, lie with the player himself, and despite the money that Steve Parish could offer Zaha in a lucrative new contract, the appeal to battle for the Premier League title, and play Champions League football, with Tottenham Hotspur next season may well be just too much of a pull to stop this move from happening.

Would you like to see Zaha join Tottenham Hotspur? Do you think Crystal Palace should be doing more to keep the Ivory Coast winger? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
