Wolverhampton Wanderers maintained their good run of form at the weekend. Wolves got the better of Fulham 3-1 away from home at Craven Cottage in the Championship on Saturday afternoon

The win for the Wanderers was their third in a row in the league and saw them pull further away from the relegation zone.

The result at Craven Cottage also meant that Fulham remain outside the top six. The Cottagers are currently seventh in the standings with 61 points from 38 matches.

Former England international cricketer Michael Vaughan, who is a well-known Sheffield Wednesday fan, was pleased with Wolves’ win on Saturday afternoon.

The reason is very simple: Wolves’ win against Fulham means that Wednesday stay a point clear of the London club in sixth place. The Owls lost 2-0 to Reading at the Hillsborough Stadium in the Championship last Friday evening.

Wednesday will take on Barnsley away from home at Oakwell in the Championship after the international break.
