West Ham United want Reece Oxford recalled from his loan at Reading

West Ham manager Slaven Bilic before the game

West Ham United fans feel that Slaven Bilic shouldn't have sent Reece Oxford out on loan to Reading.

West Ham United fans are calling for Slaven Bilic to recall Reece Oxford from his loan spell at Reading, with Winston Reid set to be out injured for a considerable period of time.

Reid is set to miss the next six weeks’ worth of action, leaving their options short at centre-back.

West Ham are likely to have to field James Collins and Jose Fonte as their centre-back pairing in the coming weeks, and their lack of mobility is a concern.

West Ham fans now want Oxford to be recalled and handed his chance at the London Stadium.

Oxford has been on the verge of a first-team breakthrough at West Ham for some time, but Bilic deemed that his progression would be best served with a loan move.

Oxford has barely featured for Reading since joining though, and has made just two brief substitute appearances.

It is not entirely clear whether West Ham have included a recall clause in their loan deal with Reading, which would enable Bilic to bring him back.

West Ham are next in action in two weeks’ time, when they take on Hull City.
