Aston Villa supporters appear divided over whether Jordan Veretout should be given another chance next season.
Veretout has been loaned out by Villa to St. Etienne, and the midfielder has impressed in Ligue 1.
The 24-year-old has netted three goals and created three assists in 27 appearances in the French top tier this season.
And Villa chairman Tony Xia hinted at the weekend, that he could look to get Veretout back involved next term.
The suggestion had a mixed reaction from Villa fans, with some still unconvinced about the attacking midfielder’s quality.
@Dr_TonyXia he's our player Tony...let him develop until the end of the season and then sit him in a strong midfield for promotion next year— deano barnwell (@deanothemod) March 19, 2017
@Dr_TonyXia we should definitely try. He was a star in France, was treated terribly when he joined us. Sherwood didn't speak to him.— TW Villan (@Villafanblog) March 19, 2017
Veretout was brought to Villa back in the summer of 2015, but he had a disappointing first campaign in English football.
Veretout failed to make much of an impact, as Villa were relegated from the Premier League last term.
If Veretout did return, he would have a lot of competition to win a place in Villa’s midfield, with Steve Bruce’s options already strong in that area.
