The 23-year-old is no stranger to Liverpool fans having begun his professional career at Anfield in 2012, having signed two years prior. However, the Spaniard was unable to make that great an impact on Merseyside and left in 2015 having made just 14 top flight appearances for the Reds.
After a promising loan spell with Genoa last season, Suso has started to look like the player that Liverpool had hoped he would become with the Rossoneri this season, scoring six and contributing seven assists in Serie A this term.
And that form has alerted Tottenham. The Mirror reports that the former Spain under-21 international now finds himself on a shortlist of potential targets, which includes Real Madrid's Isco and Ross Barkley of Everton, that Spurs plan to consider this summer.
While it is not clear whether Suso would accept the chance to move back to England if Tottenham cemented their interest with a bid, it could be suggested that Milan's current position in the Italian top flight may tempt him to consider his options.

Milan are currently seventh in the table, and are in serious danger of missing out on European football next season. Meanwhile, Spurs are second following their victory over Southampton on Sunday, so appear to be well on course to book their ticket to next season's Champions League.
And it may perhaps be fair to suggest that the opportunity to prove a point to his former club with one of their main rivals may prove too difficult to turn down should Tottenham come calling.
