Derby's Craig Bryson is tackled by Nottingham Forest's Britt Assombalonga
Nottingham Forest picked up a dramatic 2-2 draw with Derby County in Mark Warburton's first game as manager on Saturday afternoon.
Forest brought ex-Rangers boss Warburton in as their new manager earlier this week, replacing Gary Brazil, with the intention of surviving relegation to League One.
Warburton will have been in dreamland at the City Ground, as his Forest side took an early lead against fierce rivals Derby County, with Zach Clough prodding home Daniel Pinillos' left wing cross.
Derby – also with a new manager in charge in Gary Rowett – hit back in the second half, with Matej Vydra equalising from Johnny Russell's cross, before David Nugent headed the Rams in front from close range.
Forest did rally back, and rescued a valuable point when Ben Osborn's late corner found Daniel Pinillos unmarked inside the penalty area, and he buried his header into the corner of the net.
Forest fans and new manager Warburton will be pleased to have rescued a point, but the performance of striker Britt Assombalonga has been a cause for concern amongst fans on Twitter.
The 24-year-old hit 15 goals in 32 games in his first season at the club following a 2014 move from Peterborough United, but a serious knee injury limited him to just four games and one goal last season.
Nottingham Forest's Britt Assombalonga
This term, Assombalonga has been working his way back to full fitness, but with just three goals scored since the beginning of December, fans are starting to get concerned about the striker.
After the draw with Derby, fans took to Twitter to suggest that Assombalonga was 'awful' and 'uninterested', with some calling for Warburton to drop him in favour of Apostolos Vellios.
Others even feel that Assombalonga should be sold this summer, with supporters seemingly turning against the striker after his display against the Rams.
Britt was the player I went into the game worried about. I know his ability. However he looks like he can't be bothered at all. Awful. #nffc— EmJay (@EmmaKinsey7) March 18, 2017
Britt has to go In the summer. He's nowhere even close to the player he was. #nffc— #FawazOut (@NFFCBooth) March 18, 2017
Brilliant first half but Britt needs to be dropped he offered nothing today, absolute scenes when we scored late on #nffc— Simon (@SimonP_93) March 18, 2017
Terrible 2nd half performance. How Britt managed to stay on the pitch as long he did I've no idea. Hope Vellios gets given a chance #nffc— Thomas Payne (@trickytrees12) March 18, 2017
Not sure what to make of Britt. Service from MF has been poor all yr but looks uninterested. Sarcastic cheering isn't way forward mind #NFFC— Ben Belfield (@BenBelfield) March 18, 2017
As bad as I have seen Britt play... everything bounced off him and didn't seem to be interested... something's not right #nffc— Jonny Hart (@TheBigGuyKnows) March 18, 2017
Velious did more in five minutes that Britt has in five months. #nffc— jitz (@jitzjani) March 18, 2017
Wow. Britt has well and truly lost the fans. Not surprising though - since Burke left he's not been at it at all. #NFFC— Woof Zip Criminal (@fritzromanov) March 18, 2017
Somebody please tell me what Britt brings to this team? #nffc— NFFCEugene Dadi (@larsbohemian) March 18, 2017
Do you think Assombalonga should be dropped or sold?
