A day to forget for the goalkeeper during a 3-1 defeat to Manchester United.

Middlesbrough goalkeeper Victor Valdes had an afternoon to forget against former club Manchester United in the Premier League.

Valdes conceded three goals in a 3-1 defeat, saving the worst until last as the Spaniard slipped while attempting to clear the ball, leaving Antonio Valencia to knock it into an empty net.

It was certainly an embarrassing moment for the former Barcelona number one and it also gave Twitter the chance to reminisce about another high profile slip in England's top flight.

Back in 2013/14 Liverpool had a genuine chance of winning their first title since 1990, but fell too far behind eventual winners Manchester City after a 2-0 home defeat to Chelsea.

On that day it was club captain and icon, Steven Gerrard, who was left red-faced as he slipped in an almost identical fashion to Valdes, allowing Demba Ba to score.

Of course Red Devils fans did not pass up on an opportunity to focus on a calamitous moment for their fierce rivals.
