Watford lost 1-0 to Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
Watford supporters took to Twitter to question Walter Mazzarri’s future following their 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace this weekend.
The Hornets went behind in the 68th minute when captain Troy Deeney headed Yohan Cabaye’s free-kick into his own net. Abdoulaye Doucoure and M’Baye Niang both had chances to snatch a point for the visitors but Sam Allardyce’s side held out for all three points.
Defeat sees Watford drop to 14th in the Premier League table with their resurgent opponents now three points behind them. Although the Hornets still have a seven-point cushion from the drop zone, some supporters feel a change in manager is needed to halt their worrying run of form and prevent the club from being sucked into a relegation battle.
If Mazzarri keeps his job over the international break, he will have important home games against relegation-threatened Sunderland and already-safe West Bromwich Albion to plan for.
This is what some Watford fans had to say about Mazzarri’s future on Twitter:
If we sacked QSF to make progress then Mazzari has got to go as well. Terrible 'Football' and no passion at all. #mazzarriout #watfordfc

The best time to sack Mazzari is now. 2 weeks to find a replacement and drill in new tactics. #watfordfc

Mazzarri thinks we didn't deserve to lose today.

We lost to a team who had no shots on target, so I think we did. #watfordfc
Another awful performance today. Both players and managers fault. No creativity or passion like always. Mazzari needs to go #watfordfc

Surely can only be his contract, stubbornness & lack of available alternative preventing our owners getting rid? #watfordfc

2 wins in 13

Players seemingly not responding
No rapport with fans
Still not speaking English
Mazzarri under huge pressure #watfordfc
Need a plane with a banner.

In Italian obviously.#watfordfc
Other than hoping WM is one less game away from being shown the door. I can't think of a single positive from today. #walterout #watfordfc
