Tottenham maintained their good run of form with a 2-1 victory over the Saints at home in the Premier League. Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli scored the goals for the North London outfit.
The win against the Saints means that Tottenham remain second in the Premier League table, nine points ahead of North London rivals Arsenal.
Arsenal, who are currently sixth in the standings, do have a game in hand, but it does look very likely that they will finish below Spurs in the league table.
Cracking goal from Eriksen. Plenty of goals in this Spurs side even without Kane.— Gary Lineker (@GaryLineker) March 19, 2017
Think that might just have been a penalty there for Saints.— Gary Lineker (@GaryLineker) March 19, 2017
If Spurs don't finish above Arsenal this year they may as well give up.— Gary Lineker (@GaryLineker) March 19, 2017
Tottenham finished third in the Premier League last season, a place behind Arsenal.
With the Gunners struggling for a top-four finish this campaign, Spurs have a very good chance of ending the season above them.
