Mahmoud Dahoud showed just why he is so highly rated by scoring a sensational goal in last night's round of Europa League matches.

Dahoud netted a screamer from 25 yards out in the clash between Borussia Moenchengladbach and Schalke.

His goal was not enough to stop his side exiting, with a 2-2 draw enough for Schalke to progress to the quarter finals, winning 4-2 on aggregate.

Dahoud has been linked with Liverpool repeatedly over the past 12 months, with The Guardian reporting their interest as far back as last June.

His goal last night showed what all the fuss is about, and even though it was just the 21-year-old's second strike of the season, it was a special one.

The Syrian star completed 81 per cent of his passes, and made two tackles and three interceptions in a spirited display.

If he is keen to land a move to the Reds, now is the time to start raising his game as Jurgen Klopp's side formulate their summer plans. Last night's goal should put him back on their radar.
