Leicester City have started to stretch away from what seemed an unlikely relegation battle following the shock sacking of last season’s title-winning boss Claudio Ranieri.

Although not safe yet, the Foxes have moved up to 15th in the table after wins against Liverpool and Hull City.

They face Sevilla in the Champions League next week and are clearly starting to look forward again.

That includes in the transfer market. The club are said to be keeping tabs on a talented Italian defender, who has also been linked with a move to West Ham United.

Tutto Mercato Web is reporting that Leicester will have scouts present to watch Kevin Bonifazi in action for SPAL this weekend.

The 20-year-old is on loan at the club from Torino and has put in a string of impressive performances as the club battle for promotion to the Italian top-flight.

The report claims Leicester are considering shifting their focus from Sassuolo talent Francesco Acerbi, after numerous failed attempts at signing the Italian, with Bonifazi a potential summer target.

Leicester are looking to bring down the average age of their defence ahead of next season, with the likes of Robert Huth and Wes Morgan already in their thirties.
