Celtic have been totally dominant domestically this season, and Brendan Rodgers deserves huge credit for the job he has done.

Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers spoke to reporters ahead of his side’s clash with bitter rivals Rangers on Sunday, and discussed the current hire and fire culture within the game of football, suggesting that a transfer window for managers should be introduced, as quoted by the Scottish Herald.

Rodgers himself knows what it’s like to be flavour of the month one minute, and discarded on the scrapheap the next, after being sacked from his role as Liverpool manager in 2015.

And the Celtic boss has a new idea that could potentially prevent knee-jerk reaction sackings in the future.

He told reporters how a transfer window, similar to the ones for players, could be introduced to the game for managers, as quoted by the Scottish Herald:

“It wouldn’t be too disadvantageous for managers to have a transfer window too. Players have it and I think it brings some organisation to the chaos and it could be done for managers. I wouldn’t be surprised if, in the future, that’s the case. If we don’t have that you lose the qualities of people.”

Rodgers has really impressed during his time at Celtic Park, and has worked wonders, with his side currently sitting at the top of the Scottish Premiership with a 27 point lead over second placed Aberdeen, the potential to go the whole season unbeaten, and the domestic treble still within their grasp.

And a win against Rangers on Sunday really would be the cherry on the cake for Rodgers and his side.
