According to a report in the Daily Star, Glasgow Rangers' top managerial target Pedro Caixinha has now asked for a move to Ibrox.
Caixinha has reportedly held discussions with his current club, Al Gharafa’s, president Sheikh Jassim Al-Thani to tell him he wishes to move to Glasgow.
Rangers’ board have also informed Caixinha that the job is his, should they be able to agree terms.
Rangers have been very impressed by Caixinha during interviews with the Portuguese boss.
The 46-year-old is said to be ready to sign a contract at Rangers ahead of their match against Celtic on Sunday.
However, Caixinha is not likely to be in the dugout for that match, with Graeme Murty set to be left in caretaker charge.
Murty has been in charge at Rangers for five games now, and he has won three of them.
Rangers are currently in third place in the Scottish Premiership table - six points behind Aberdeen, who they are trying to catch.
