Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are set to face Celtic this weekend.
With Celtic set to meet Rangers in the Old-Firm derby this weekend, Waghorn has been stoking the fire - by suggesting that the Ibrox side are the only team in Scotland who are capable of beating Brendan Rodgers’ men.
However, Tierney refused to be dragged into a war of words, when asked about the Rangers’ striker’s comments yesterday.
"He has obviously got his opinion,” the young full-back said. "But it's just down to us to train hard every single day, 100 per cent, and get better every day in training, and when it comes to the game we will be fully prepared.”
Rangers have already had three chances to beat Celtic this season, but they have failed to take any of them.
Celtic have been largely dominant in matches against their Glasgow rivals, and every other Scottish team that they have played.
Celtic are still unbeaten in domestic action, after a remarkable first season under Rodgers’ stewardship.
Rangers are currently 33 points behind Rodgers’ side in the Scottish Premiership table, and head into this weekend’s match as big underdogs.
If the Light Blues could pick up a shock victory, they could close the gap on second placed Aberdeen down to three points.
