When writing his regular column for the club's official website, Hammers co-owner David Sullivan shared how many players he believes West Ham need in order to become a very good side, and insisted how he and the rest of the club's hierarchy will do everything within their power to make that happen during the summer.

The East London outfit have managed to turn their season around over the past two months, and currently sit in 11th spot in the Premier League table, despite their disappointing defeat to Chelsea last night.

They can move back inside the top half with a win at Bournemouth on Saturday though, and after their miserable start to their campaign, a finish inside the top 10 would surely be considered a decent season.

And Sullivan explained how he believes the future is bright for the Hammers, when writing his regular column for WHUFC.com, and promised that he will be working hard during the off-season to help the club reach their potential:

"I believe we are only a couple of players short of having a very, very good side, and I can promise that we will be working extremely hard again in the summer to achieve that objective."

Sullivan and David Gold have surely learned their lesson from last summer, when they brought a whole host of free signings into the club - many of whom have been proven to be completely disastrous recruitments.

And if they truly want to take the club forward, they will have to outlay the kind of money that is befitting of a side who harbour genuine ambitions of challenging for major honours.
