Nottingham Forest owner Fawaz Al Hasawi
Nottingham Forest announced last week that Frank McParland has been appointed as the Director of Football at the club.
Fans had long been awaiting backroom appointments after promises from owner Fawaz Al-Hasawi, and the move is a step in the right direction.
McParland has previous experience at Liverpool, Burnley, and Brentford, before joining Rangers in 2015.
Forest are fortunate to land McParland, with the talent spotter making a shock exit from Ibrox last month along with manager Mark Warburton.
Just 24 hours before their departure from Rangers, Mark Warburton had spoken glowingly about his colleague, who also worked with him at Brentford.
He told the Daily Record: "I've said time and again - his track record is outstanding. The latest one is Scott Hogan going to Villa, another gem, one of many that Frank McParland has signed.
"There would be no shortage of takers for someone of his quality. We are lucky to have him. He is one of the very best at what he does.
"He is head of our recruitment. It was a mischievous story [about a potential exit] and where it emanated from I have no idea."
Little did Warburton know, that both he and McParland were set to be ousted from their roles at Rangers - and the full circumstances are still unclear.
McParland has wasted little time in getting straight back into a high profile role, and given their enthusiasm for working together, it would be no surprise if Warburton follows him to the City Ground.
