Harry Redknapp has told BT Sport on 16th February that Moussa Sissoko did absolutely nothing for Tottenham Hotspur against Gent in the Europa League.

Sissoko was handed a rare start for Spurs in Belgium, but he failed to impress, as Mauricio Pochettino’s side fell to a 1-0 defeat.

Tottenham never managed to get out of first gear during the match, and Redknapp has questioned what Sissoko actually offered to his side.

“He was poor tonight. He did nothing. What did he do?” Redknapp questioned. “But he wasn’t the only one. Dembele did some good stuff, and Harry Winks worked hard, but overall I can’t find many positives from that performance.”

Sissoko was Tottenham’s most expensive signing last summer, but the former Newcastle United man has struggled at White Hart Lane so far.

The 27-year-old has made just six Premier League starts for Spurs, and he is yet to score for the North London club.

Tottenham’s defeat against Gent was highly disappointing, given that Pochettino had named a strong line-up for the fixture.

Spurs are taking the Europa League seriously this year, but they now have work to do if they are to qualify.

Tottenham are due to face Gent at Wembley in the second-leg on 23rd February.
