Sasso’s contract at Hillsborough expires in the summer, and there are doubts over whether he will stick with Wednesday.
The 25-year-old started this season as a back-up choice, but he has risen to prominence in recent weeks.
Sasso has come into Wednesday’s back line following an injury to Tom Lees, and he has caught the eye with a series of excellent displays.
Sasso has looked rock solid in the heart of Wednedsay’s defence, and he even got on the scoresheet in Carlos Carvalhal’s side’s most recent outing against Blackburn Rovers.
It would now be a surprise if Sasso isn’t offered a new deal at the Owls, but the Frenchman has refused to commit his future to the Yorkshire side.
“I like the players and feel good here,” Sasso said. “We will see. I do not really think about it (contract) at the moment.
“The most important thing is the next game against Nottingham.”
Lees is edging closer to fitness now, but it remains to be seen whether he will come straight back into Wednesday’s starting line-up.
The Owls are next in action when they take on Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.
