Pundits predict: Ipswich Town v Leeds United - McCarthy takes on Monk

Ipswich Town take on Leeds United on Saturday in the Championship, and HITC pundits give their predictions on the likely outcome.

Dan Coombs

Ipswich Town 0-2 Leeds United

Ipswich have put together a good couple of results against Aston Villa and Brighton but having Tom Lawrence suspended for this fixture is a big blow. Leeds loanee Diagouraga is also ineligible and he has been key for them, and the Whites should continue to get back on track after inconsistent form of late. Expect Chris Wood to score again.

Ipswich Town 1-2 Leeds United

Mick McCarthy’s side host Leeds with their tails up. Picking up four points from away trips to Villa and Brighton, Garry Monk’s hosts could be in for a tough battle. Then again, they’ve come through stern tests of late and Chris Wood has a point to prove against his former side.

Ipswich Town 1-1 Leeds United

It took a slice of luck for Leeds to beat Bristol City midweek, whilst Ipswich got a very credible point away at the Amex. A tight game is likely to be in order at Portman Road, with a share of the spoils highly likely.

Vincent Ralph

Ipswich Town 1-2 Leeds United

Ipswich are without Tom Lawrence and Toumani Diagouraga so Leeds have an advantage going into this clash. At full strength Ipswich could win but as it is I see a narrow victory for the Whites.

Che Thomas

Ipswich 1-1 Leeds United

Though they only have one win in three, Ipswich have put some decent results together lately, including draws against promotion challengers Reading and Brighton. I think they'll get another draw against Leeds, who beat strugglers Bristol City by just one goal in the last round of fixtures. Having said that, Leeds don't get many draws, so Garry Monk will be working hard to inspire his team to collect all three points.

Trips to Ipswich are rarely easy, although the Tractor Boys are without two key players in Tom Lawrence and Toumani Diagouraga, which will come as a boost to Leeds, from whom the latter is on loan. The Whites bounced back against Bristol City and I fancy them for all three points here. Ipswich boss Mick McCarthy has a penchant for spoiling parties, however.
