Don Hutchison compares Everton's Tom Davies to Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard

England's Steven Gerrard

Everton youngster Tom Davies has made a big impression since breaking through at Goodison Park.

West Ham's Don Hutchison in action

Don Hutchison has told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, which was broadcast on TalkSPORT on 16th February, that Everton midfielder Tom Davies reminds him of Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard.

Davies has broken into Everton’s first-team in recent weeks, and the 18-year-old’s performances have caught the eye.

Ronald Koeman has given Davies an important role in central-midfielder, but the youngster has coped with everything that has been thrown at him so far.

And Hutchison believes that Davies’ all-action style, makes him comparable to Gerrard.

“Young Tom Davies looks like an absolute superstar,” the former Everton man said. “He does everything. He’s Gerrard like, he does the absolute lot. The Everton fans have took to him, and Everton look the better side.”

Davies’ stand out performance so far came in Everton’s 4-0 win over Manchester City earlier this season.

The England youth international got on the scoresheet, as Everton cruised to victory over Pep Guardiola’s side.

Davies is currently with the rest of Everton’s squad in Dubai, as Koeman puts them through their paces.

Everton are next in action in two weekends’ time, when they play host to struggling Sunderland.
