Derby County's play-off hopes were dealt a significant blow as they were beaten in an enthralling game against Cardiff.
Darren Bent celebrates after he scores Derby's second goal
Darren Bent has taken to Twitter to urge everyone associated with Derby County to stick together following their agonising 4-3 loss to Cardiff City on Tuesday.
The Rams were five points adrift of the Championship's top six going into the clash against the Bluebirds at Pride Park, but, once again, struggled to keep the ball out of their own net as, just days after drawing 3-3 with Bristol City, Steve McClaren's men conceded four against another side languishing in the bottom half.
The most excruciating thing for Derby supporters to accept was the manner in which the defeat came about. The home side had taken a 2-0 lead inside the first 20 minutes, with Bent scoring the second after Julien de Sart had broken the deadlock.
However, Neil Warnock's side then responded with three goals of their own to turn the game on its head as it approached the hour-mark.

But Derby managed to give themselves a great chance of bagging a victory as Bent added his second to equalise with 16 minutes of normal time remaining. However, a stoppage-time penalty saw the away side edge the enthralling contest.
Given that Derby have not won any of their last four in all competitions, it would appear that they have very little momentum currently heading into the business end of the campaign.
But Bent has looked to rally the troops with a much more encouraging message on social media...
