Brendan Rodgers says that it is ‘great news’ that Celtic will have Stuart Armstrong back available to them for their match against Motherwell.
Armstrong has not played for Celtic since January, after picking up a hamstring injury.
However, the central midfielder has come through training unscathed this week and Rodgers says that the 24-year-old could feature against Motherwell.
BR: "@StuArmstrong16 will be back for us which is great news."— Celtic Football Club (@celticfc) February 16, 2017
Armstrong has endured a rather stop-start season so far, with injury curtailing his progress under Rodgers.
When the former Dundee United man has been fit he has been in good form, though, and he has notched eight goals in 18 matches for the Bhoys.
Rodgers’ fitness update was not all positive at his press conference, however.
The Bhoys boss did confirm that Leigh Griffiths would be unavailable, even though he has impressed him in training recently.
BR on @Leighgriff09: “He's back training but won't be available for the game. He's knuckled down and has been working really well."— Celtic Football Club (@celticfc) February 16, 2017
If Celtic are able to beat Motherwell, they could move 30 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership table.
