Paris Saint-Germain stunned the footballing world on Tuesday evening by hammering Barcelona 4-0 at home.

The Ligue 1 giants took on Spanish powerhouse Barcelona in the first leg of the Champions League last-16 tie at Parc des Princes.

Barca headed into the tie as favourites and were expected to least draw in the first leg in Paris, but they were soundly beaten.

PSG turned on the style under the lights in Paris and eased past Barcelona 4-0.

Unai Emery’s tactics worked perfectly, and he showed why the French giants hired him as their manager in the summer of 2016.

Emery arrived in France on the back of three successive Europa League success with Sevilla.

West Ham United midfielder Sofiane Feghouli worked with the Spanish manager at Valencia, and he has showed praised on him on Twitter.

Feghouli wrote on the social networking site: “Emery, worthy of the greatest, a tactical recital. Merit comes back to him! To be studied for players and coaches in the making. #UCL.”

Interestingly, West Ham were actually interested in appointing Emery as their manager back in the summer of 2015.

Sky Sports quoted the former Spartak Moscow boss as saying in June 2015 that he had turned down an offer from the Hammers to succeed Sam Allardyce.
