Barcelona suffered a shock heavy defeat to Paris Saint-Germain away from home in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.

The Spanish giants were hammered 4-0 by PSG at Parc des Princes in the first leg of the last-16 tie.

Angel di Maria put the home team in the lead in the 18th minute, and Julian Draxler doubled the advantage five minutes before the half-time interval.

Di Maria found the net again 10 minutes into the second half, and Edinson Cavani wrapped up the scoring on 71 minutes.

The performance of Barcelona against PSG was dire, with the defence all over the place.

Former Queens Park Rangers and Manchester City forward Rodney Marsh was following the match, and he made a rather unflattering comparison between Barcelona and West Ham United.

After the first 15 minutes, Rodney stated that Barcelona were defending like West Ham.

The Hammers’ defending has been disappointing this season, with Slaven Bilic’s side having conceded 43 goals in 25 Premier League matches so far this campaign.

In February alone, the Hammers have shipped in as many as seven goals in three league games.
