The 25-year-old made 21 appearances for Barnsley in the first half of last season before joining Wigan last January where we went on to make 19 appearances as they stormed to the League One title.
Wabara's performances for both Barnsley and Wigan saw him recognised by his fellow players as he was named in the PFA's League One Team of the Year and it was a major surprise when he was released by Wigan last summer.
A number of clubs have shown an interest in Wabara, but now Bolton have moved to offer the talented defender a route back into the game.

Bolton boss Phil Parkinson is an admirer of Wabara and he has moved to bring in the defender to help fill the void left by Lawrie Wilson's injury with the club's first-choice right-back set to miss the rest of the season with a hamstring problem.
Wabara, who has represented England at Under-19 and Under-20 level, has agreed a deal until the end of the season at Bolton and he will be hoping he can help the club win promotion from League One.
