The Greek international struggled to make any impact at Craven Cottage.
The Champions League dealt up a massive shock last night, as Paris Saint-Germain thrived in the City of Love on Valentines Evening, destroying Barcelona 4-0 at the Parc des Princes.
The other fixture was less eventful, but it was one Fulham fans certainly took notice of.
Benfica defeated Borussia Dortmund 1-0 in the Portuguese capital and the goalscorer was well known by all Cottagers fans.
Kostas Mitroglou won the game for the Portuguese side. His goal in the 48th minute proved enough to claim all three points against the German side.
It was his 11th goal in 24 games for Benfica this season after his tally of 21 in 39 last season during a loan spell from Fulham.
Fulham fans will be wondering where on earth this goalscoring prowess was at Craven Cottage?
Kostas Mitroglou in action against Cardiff City
When Fulham signed the Greek international he cost them £12 million, according to ESPN, and they took a financial hit when he departed the club for Benfica.
Fulham boss Felix Magath was not a fan of the player and Mitroglou also suffered with knee trouble during his time at the club. He played just three times and failed to score.
Now he is proving himself a dangerous European striker once again and Fulham fans are scratching their heads…

Ok why is a Fulham reject scoring goals in the Champions League knockout stages. Can't wrap my head around Mitroglou being good— Ben (@BenJoyceFoot) February 14, 2017
