Arsenal face Bayern Munich in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie on Wednesday.
Arsenal’s David Ospina
Arsenal fans have been taking to Twitter to comment on the news from the Daily Mirror that David Ospina will remain the Gunners’ number one for their Champions League clash with Bayern Munich on Wednesday night.
Since Petr Cech’s arrival at the club in 2015, the Colombian has often had to wait until the cup games for an opportunity between the sticks, but Arsene Wenger has remained loyal to him in that sense.
Ospina played all of Arsenal’s Champions League group-stage games this term – as well as their two FA Cup ties so far this season – and helped the Premier League side progress out of their group unbeaten.
The Mirror suggests however, that some of the club’s senior players were surprised to hear that Wenger will not be making a change by handing Cech a start in the Allianz Arena.

While some supporters would be forgiven for wanting Cech to keep his place given his experience and the fact that he is the number one in the top flight, many fans appear to have thrown their support behind Ospina.
Some are not convinced about Cech’s current form so feel that despite their respective reputations, Ospina starting will actually give them a better chance of getting the kind of result that will leave them with an opportunity to progress going into the second leg at the Emirates in a couple of weeks.
Here is some of the reaction…
