Crystal Palace are reportedly keen on the Tottenham Hotspur defender.

Crystal Palace are to make a £10 million offer for Tottenham Hotspur left-back Ben Davies, according to the Sun.

However, the Eagles could be left disappointed, with Spurs said to want double that amount.

New Palace boss Sam Allardyce has reportedly switched targets, having seen a similar bid turned down for Patrick van Aanholt, whom he managed last season at Sunderland.

Tottenham, though, will perhaps want to keep hold of Davies, with centre-back Jan Vertonghen set to miss up to two months through injury and the Welshman able to provide cover at the heart of defence.

Palace have already added Leicester City’s Jeff Schlupp this month, however, their alleged pursuit of other left-backs suggests the Ghanaian could be set for a more advanced role.

Spurs have been linked with a move for Eagles winger Wilfried Zaha in the past and may look to use their London rivals’ interest advantageously.

23-year-old Davies arrived at White Hart Lane from Swansea in 2014 for a reported £10.75 million fee, but has made just nine starts this campaign.
