Leeds United have a history of producing top young talents.
Leeds under-23 head coach Jason Blunt has offered words of advice for Clarke Oduor, after the 17-year-old signed his first professional contract with the club on Monday, as quoted by the club’s official website.
The teenager has featured for the Whites’ under-18’s and under-23’s this season, and has impressed after a succession of superb displays in midfield.
But Blunt, who obviously knows Oduor extremely well having worked with him so closely, stressed the need for him to continue his hard work, if he is to eventually succeed within the game, as quoted by LeedsUnited.com:
Leeds United manager Garry Monk
“It is a proud moment for all of the Academy, everybody has played their part along the way. It is not about any individuals, it starts from the scouts who bring them in and the Academy will continue to produce players now and in the future. We are delighted, but things can quickly change if players don’t knuckle down and work extremely hard.”

Garry Monk has led his side to third in the Championship table, earning plaudits for bringing a plethora of youngsters through to his first-team set-up, and rightly so.
In the current footballing climate, where so much emphasis is placed on getting results now, without the need for a long-term vision, Monk seems to have gone against the grain, and Leeds fans are now starting to see the fruits of his labour, with the likes of Oduor consistently being brought through the system.
