West Ham vs Crystal Palace: Does Eagles man return with agenda?

West Ham manager Sam Allardyce

West Ham United host Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday.

Crystal Palace travel to West Ham United this Saturday in the Premier League. The Eagles' position in the table makes this game important enough, but will Palace boss Sam Allardyce be especially keen to secure the three points for a more personal reason?

HITC Sport's Michael Ramsey and James Rutherford have suggested that he may have an agenda given the circumstances surrounding his departure from the Hammers following a promising spell in charge between 2011 and 2015.

"He was kind of unfairly sacked though, wasn't he?" Michael asked.

"He was, you could see the [board's] thinking that they wanted to be playing a sexier style of football," James responded.

Despite the guys feeling that Allardyce's departure was unfair, James suggested that he has been surprised by the job that his successor Slaven Bilic has done.

"I didn't think Slaven Bilic was that good an appointment when he came in but he's proved me wrong," James added.

Although the main subplot is perhaps Allardyce facing his former club, there is also arguably an issue surrounding Palace that has threatened to overshadow the build-up to the fixture.

A report in the Daily Mirror earlier in the week suggested that Crystal Palace striker, club record signing and current top goalscorer Christian Benteke may be allowed to leave to raise funds to go after January targets. And the guys made it clear what they would think if the Eagles left the path clear for the Belgian to move on.

"That would be insane," Michael insisted.

"Why would you get rid of your top goalscorer? If they don't get a good striker back, you've got Fraizer Campbell and that's it," James added.

Despite both teams' struggles, the one thing both James and Michael are expecting from the upcoming game is goals, with the pair predicting four and six goals respectively.
