Leeds United face Derby County this evening.
Leeds are in fifth place, five points ahead of Derby, with the two teams set to face off at Elland Road this evening in a pivotal Championship clash.
Derby manager Steve McClaren
A win for Derby will close the gap and throw the race for the play-offs open, while Leeds have an opportunity to put some distance between themselves and one of the most in-form teams in the division.
McClaren said: "Leeds have been on a great run after a not so good start. They are always a threat, have good players and are well organised.
“Elland Road is always a tough place to go to and under the lights on a Friday night, it is the sort of quality game the Championship can serve up. There are some more attractive games in this league than in the Premier League.”
Leeds United manager Garry Monk before the match
Leeds have looked like a different side under Garry Monk this season in comparison to previous campaigns, and have a real chance of winning promotion.
A victory will put them within four points of second placed Newcastle, temporarily at least, but will put the pressure on Rafa Benitez's side before their away trip to Brentford on Saturday.
