Now West Ham have a decision to make with regard to his future, and Chelsea are set to try and tempt them into selling, even though letting him leave for a London rival is far from ideal.

Chelsea are planning to use some of their £60 million gained form selling Oscar towards a bid for Payet, but may use Michy Batshuayi to seal his signature too.
SkySports reported this week that West Ham are keen to sign Batshuayi on loan, with the Belgian having struggled for first team chances this season at Chelsea since his £33 million move.

West Ham were among the teams outbid by Chelsea in the summer, and while the Blues would prefer to keep Batshuayi as back up to Diego Costa, The Sun report they may use West Ham's loan interest in the striker as leverage to sign Payet, and let him join up until the end of the season anyway as part of a deal to sign the France international.
Whether simply a loan would be enough to satisfy West Ham is another matter, but if Payet decides his heart is set on Chelsea, then the possibility of getting Batshuayi on a short term basis could be tempting, in the hope it lays the ground work for a permanent move later on if the striker does not succeed at Chelsea.
