Rangers fans have been expressing their concern on Twitter after the club confirmed on their official website that they had completed the loan signing of Jon Toral and had handed the Arsenal youngster the number eight shirt.
The 21-year-old - who spent the first half of the campaign out on loan with La Liga outfit Granada - has become the Gers' third signing of the window, following the permanent arrival of David Bates and the loan acquisition of Bournemouth's Emerson Hyndman.
Jon Toral, during his time with Birmingham
The club have confirmed on their official website that Toral - who worked alongside Mark Warburton when the Light Blues boss was in charge at Brentford - has moved to Ibrox until the end of the season.
Rangers fans will be hoping that Toral can bring some creativity to Warburton's side going forward ahead of the second half of the season.
The Gers are comfortably the lowest scorers in the top four in the Scottish Premiership, so they may need Toral to reproduce the form he showed during his recent spells with Birmingham and at Griffin Park.
But while he is yet to kick a ball for his new club, it appears that he has not got off to the best start with several supporters picking up on the fact that he has been handed the number that Joey Barton wore during his brief but eventful spell in Scotland earlier in the season.
Toral has made a mistake taking the no.8 shirt. It's cursed, btw.— Jamie (@jamiecurrie89) 12 January 2017

If Toral get the 8 shirt, I hope he's more like Zelalem. i.e. quiet and goes about his job than Barton and Black - they've cursed it.— Jamie (@jamiecurrie89) 11 January 2017
