Leeds United are set to take on Derby County later this evening.
Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson has wished his teammates good luck on social media website Twitter ahead of their match against Derby County tonight.
Jansson is not available to play in the contest, after picking up his 10th booking of the season against Cambridge United in the FA Cup.
The Swede will miss Leeds’ next two matches, and he has called for the Elland Road crowd to make a huge noise in his absence.
All the best tonight lads @LUFC, and all the supports, tonight we need you more than ever! See you tonight!— Pontus Jansson (@PJansson5) January 13, 2017
Jansson’s absence is a major blow for Leeds, as the Torino loanee has been brilliant since arriving last summer.
The 25-year-old is expected to sign permanently for Leeds in the January transfer window, as soon as he makes his 22nd appearance for the Yorkshire club.
Leeds could be forced to field a make shift back line this evening, with Garry Monk’s options short at centre-back.
Liam Cooper is a doubt for the contest, meaning Kyle Bartley is Leeds’ only recognised senior centre-back available.
If Leeds are able to beat Derby they will move up into third place in the Championship table.
