Newcastle United will be hoping to keep their important players this month.
Turkish media outlet Fanatik claimed earlier this week that Newcastle's on-loan star Christian Atsu is being targeted by Super Lig side Basaksehir, but sources close to the player have told GhanaSoccerNet that the player has no interest in a move away from England.
The 25-year-old Chelsea-owned winger is currently away on duty at the African Cup of Nations with the Ghana national side.
Newcastle United's Christian Atsu celebrates
He moved to St James' Park on a season-long loan in the summer, and has gone on to make 16 Championship appearances for the Magpies, although he has only really started to show his true potential over the past month or so.
And following links with a move to Turkey, GhanaSoccerNet have been told by sources close to the player that Atsu has no intention whatsoever of leaving English shores for Basaksehir:
"Atsu has no plans of leaving England at the moment. He has no interest in joining any team in Turkey. He is enjoying his life at Newcastle United at the moment and wants to continue with his progress at the club. In the worse case scenario, he will stay in the top leagues of Europe."

Newcastle could be without the Ghana international for up to a month, depending on how far into the competition his country progress.
And Rafa Benitez will be hoping that Atsu returns to Tyneside in good form, as his side look to cement their position inside the automatic promotion spots.
