But there is no fee agreed with West Ham.

French newspaper L'Equipe claim West Ham attacker Dimitri Payet has already agreed personal terms with Marseille over a return to the club.

No fee is agreed with West Ham though, and Marseille will need to bid big to convince West Ham to sell, having had a £20 million offer already rejected.

The story is the front page of Friday's edition, which can be seen below:

Payet has gone on strike in an attempt to force a move away from the Hammers, with an angry Slaven Bilic letting the developments be known at his Thursday morning press conference, reported by The BBC.

The France international has been at West Ham for 18 months and has come in for criticism this season after failing to match his incredible standards of his first season at the club.

L'Equipe add that despite the personal terms being agreed, they expect the transfer saga to drag on until deadline day.

The situation will forever taint the memory among supporters of a player who had hero status at West Ham heading into the season, especially as he signed a contract extension just 12 months ago.
