Brendan Rodgers explains why Moussa Dembele has been successful at Celtic

Celtic signed Moussa Dembele in the summer transfer window.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has explained to The National why Moussa Dembele has been a success at club so far.

Dembele joined Celtic in the summer transfer window after leaving English club Fulham at the end of the 2015-16 season.

The 20-year-old forward has been superb for the Bhoys so far this season and is playing well at the moment.

As stated on Celtic’s official website, the France Under-21 international has scored 19 goals in 36 matches in all competitions so far this campaign.

Celtic boss Rodgers has praised Dembele and has explained why the youngster has been so successful at Celtic Park.

"The reason we brought him in was because we thought he could make a real positive impact,” Rodgers told The National.

“Of course, you never know 100 per cent, but what he’s gone on to achieve hasn’t surprised us, because of his temperament and his quality. He really has a big-game temperament and I think he’s one that will continue to show that.”

Celtic are at the top of the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 58 points from 20 matches.

The Glasgow giants are 19 points clear of second-placed and Old Firm rivals Rangers and have a game in hand.

The Hoops will return to action on January 22 when they take on Albion Rovers away from home at the Exsel Group Stadium in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup.
