The Croatian said:

“We have a situation with a player and it is Dimitri Payet; he wants to leave. The club, us, as I said so many times before, we don’t want to sell him. We’ve said hundreds of times that we don’t want to sell our best players, we want to keep them." (as quoted by the Premier League's official website)

And in a further development, the club have already rejected a bid of £19.1 million for Payet from French club Marseille, according to the Mirror.

In better news for the Hammers, summer signing flop Simone Zaza looks to be edging ever closer to the exit door, with Valencia coach Salvador Gonzalez adamant that his side are doing all they can to bring the Italian to the Mestalla, as quoted by SuperDeporte:

"We are interested in Zaza and he is a real option. Things take time and our club is working on it. We are trying to get him to come as soon as possible. It's a difficult market, but whoever arrives will do so with the idea of improving the team."

Meanwhile, Sky Italia are reporting that West Ham are interested in signing Inter Milan defender Andrea Ranocchia.
