West Brom boss surprisingly believes Tottenham midfielder is as good as any in the league; not Alli

West Bromwich Albion take on Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Saturday.

Speaking during his pre-match press conference, Baggies boss Tony Pulis raved about his side's opponents on Saturday, labelling one Spurs star as the best in his position in the Premier League, as quoted by the club's official website.

Pulis is preparing to take his West Brom side to north London at the weekend, where they are set to face one of the league's in-form teams.

The Baggies are on a fine run themselves, however, having won six of their last 10 Premier League games, and are currently sitting pretty in eighth position in the table.

Pulis highlighted the threat that their opponent will undoubtedly pose on Saturday, however, when speaking to reporters, and singled out one player in particular who has impressed him this season, as quoted by WBA.co.uk:

"Wanyama’s as good a holding midfield player as anybody in the Premiership. He’s (Mauricio Pochettino) spent a lot of money, but he’s spent it well.”

The Kenyan moved to White Hart Lane in the summer, for a fee believed to be in the region of £11 million, and has gone on to start every single Premier League game for Spurs so far this term.

This weekend's game is a big one for both sides, with Tottenham looking to keep pace with Chelsea at the top of the league, and West Brom hoping to remain in the mix for the Europa League spots.
