HITC Sport understands Aberdeen will target Rangers’ Michael O’Halloran

Cardiff City are ready to make a new offer on for Aberdeen’s Irish star Jonny Hayes, HITC Sport understands.

The Bluebirds have been on Hayes’s trail for over 12 months and they have already seen a £500,000 bid turned down this month.

Cardiff are now ready to return with a bid worth £1million to try and tempt The Dons into selling, and HITC Sport understands that Aberdeen are looking at possible replacements.

And the name at the top of the list is understood to be Rangers’ Michael O’Halloran.

The former St Johnstone man joined Rangers 12-months ago in a deal worth around £500,000.

He played a part in their promotion back to the top-flight but this season his chances have been limited – starting just five games, and Mark Warburton would appear unlikely to stand in is way as he is keen to bolster his own squad.

Cardiff remain just three points above the drop-zone in the Championship and Neil Warnock is anxious to add to his options.
