Rangers forward Michael O’Halloran could leave Ibrox this month, with St Johnstone keen to re-sign him.

According to The Scottish Sun, Rangers attacker Michael O’Halloran could leave the club this month, with St Johnstone in the the hunt to re-sign him.

The Gers swooped last January to land O’Halloran, with the Daily Record reporting that Mark Warburton’s men forked out £500,000 to sign the attacker from St Johnstone.

O’Halloran, formerly of Bolton Wanderers, hit 16 goals in 90 games to attract Rangers’ interest, and he scored three times in 13 games for the Gers following his move.

However, the Glasgow-born attacker has struggled to make an impact under Warburton this season, having started just five league games so far this term, registering no goals.

Now, with Warburton having the likes of Barrie McKay, Harry Forrester, Martyn Waghorn, Joe Dodoo, Kenny Miller and Joe Garner at his disposal, O’Halloran has been pushed down the pecking order, and he could leave the club this month.

The Scottish Sun report that the 25-year-old may be allowed to leave Ibrox this month, with former club St Johnstone believed to be keen on a deal to re-sign him.

Having spent two years at McDiarmid Park, O’Halloran was a fan favourite with the Saints, and a move back to Perth could be a smart move for the player.

Some Gers fans believe that O’Halloran should be given a chance in the first team thanks to his pace, but with Warburton keen to bring in new signings, the Scot may be allowed to leave to make room for new faces this month.
