Sunderland reportedly have very little money to spend in the January transfer window.
Don Hutchison has urged Sunderland not to sell Jordan Pickford, Jermain Defoe, Lamine Kone, Patrick Van Aanholt or Fabio Borini in January.
Hutchison says that as far as he understands, Sunderland have told David Moyes that he will have to offload first-team players if he wants any funds to spend on new additions in the January transfer window.
However, Hutchison insists that Moyes should not contemplate selling any of his key players, with Sunderland locked in a relegation fight.
My understanding is…Sunderland+Moyes was told the other week that he needs to sell and trim the squad!!— Don Hutchison (@donhutch4) January 4, 2017
Hopefully it’s fringe not 1st team.
Don’t sell— Don Hutchison (@donhutch4) January 4, 2017
Prem clubs sniffing..
Defoe has already been linked with a move away from Sunderland, with West Ham United reportedly interested.
Moyes has already spoken of his desire to bring in new players in January, but he may be left disappointed.
Sunderland are currently in 18th place in the Premier League table - and they are just one point away from safety.
