Report explains how West Brom could benefit from losing this star for nothing

West Brom's Saido Berahino

West Bromwich Albion are reportedly keen on keeping hold of one of their brightest stars.

The Baggies have offered Saido Berahino a new contract that will see him triple his wages if he chooses to accept the terms, as reported by the Daily Mail on page 104 of their printed edition on December 31st 2016.

The striker has not featured for West Brom since September 10th, as he continues to work his way back to full fitness, after Tony Pulis admitted that he is nowhere near ready to start a game.

And the Daily Mail now claim that the Baggies want to keep the 23-year-old, but state that if he were to leave the club when his contract expires in the summer, they would still be eligible to receive a fee set by tribunal, because he is under 24.

Berahino has endured a difficult couple of years at the Hawthorns, all down to his own indiscretions, it has to be said.

A succession of failed moves away from the club have led to disagreements with management staff and the board, and it is still hard to imagine a scenario where he will remain at West Brom beyond this summer.
