A year ago today and both Tottenham Hotspur and Everton were linked with an interest in Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko.

Sky Sports reported the news and it certainly came true in the summer.

Everton had a bid accepted for the player and thought he was theirs, only for Spurs to swoop in and snap him up instead.

A new Sandro

Tottenham were said to be upping their interest in the signature of Barcelona forward Sandro Ramirez a year ago today.

The Mirror were reporting that Spurs had identified the Spaniard after they began to lose hope of signing either Saido Berahino or Michy Batshuayi in the winter transfer window.

In the end the club did not manage to sign Sandro – who has since gone on to join Malaga

After a good start to the season in La Liga expect Spurs to be linked again soon.

Forrester joins

Rangers completed the signature of Harry Forrester.

They agreed a six-month deal for the player who arrived from Doncaster Rovers – having previously worked with Mark Warburton at Watford and Brentford.

He has since gone on to become a squad player at Rangers and his contract at the club was extended until 2019.
