HITC Sport understands Norwich loan star is set for talks over his future.
Aberdeen's James Maddison and Greenock Morton's Jai Quitongo in action
Aberdeen loan star James Maddison is set to return to Norwich next week for talks over his future, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Maddison's loan deal at Aberdeen is due to expire in January and the Scottish club are keen to extend his stay until the end of the season.
Reports emanating from Scotland have suggested a deal to stay at Pittodrie has been agreed between all parties, but sources have told HITC Sport that Maddison is to hold talks with Canaries boss Alex Neil to discuss what his best option is in the second half of the season.
Norwich City manager Alex Neil
Under-pressure Norwich chief Alex Neil is keen to have a look at Maddison after his successful loan spell in Scotland as he considers making changes to his under-performing team.
Maddison has been outstanding for Aberdeen since joining on loan last summer, scoring three goals in 19 appearances for the Scottish Premiership side.
The skilful midfielder will wait to find out if he figures in Neil's plans in the New Year and if he is told he is not going to be included in the first-team at Carrow Road the 20-year-old will extend his loan at Aberdeen until the end of the season.
