HITC Sport understands Reading have seen bid for striker rejected.
Brentford’s Scott Hogan is in demand
Brentford have rejected a bid from Championship rivals Reading for star striker Scott Hogan, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
A number of Premier League and Championship clubs are tracking Hogan ahead of the transfer window reopening in January.
Hogan, who has scored 13 goals so far this season is regarded as one of the best strikers in the country after impressing at Brentford in the last nine months.
The 24-year-old joined Brentford from Rochdale in the summer of 2014, but saw his progress at the club hampered by suffering two serious cruciate knee ligament injuries in 12 months.

The forward has battled his way back to fitness and he returned to first-team action in March scoring seven goals in seven matches since returning from injury and he has carried on that fine form this term.
Reading boss Jaap Stam has made striking reinforcements his top priority in the January transfer window and Hogan is understood to figure highly on his wanted list.
Reading are understood to have tabled a £7 million bid for Hogan which has been flatly turned down by Brentford.
Brentford are reluctant to lose their prize asset in January, but are bracing themselves for further interest from other clubs in Hogan next month.
